Katharina studied at the Medau School in Germany. She graduated in 1989 as a Physiotherapist (Staatlich anerkannte Krankengymnastinn) and additional as a exercise movement teacher using the Medau method( Staatlich annerkante Gymnastiklehrerin) . In Germany she worked in a school for disabled children and in a clinic specializing in infant care. She took numerous courses in neurophysiological assessment and treatments for babies and adults. (Vojita and Bobath method)
In Germany , she also worked in centers of sport, post surgery and neurological rehabilitation.
Since 2001 she is the owner of her private practice in Orleans (Holistic Manual Therapy, subsequently renamed to Katharina’s House of Osteopathy inc in 2016)
In 2001, she began the training to become an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (Dipl.O.M.P.). This involved five years of study at the Canadian College of Osteopathy in Toronto followed by completion of her the thesis “The effect of Osteopathic Treatment on Cervico Brachial Overuse syndromes in violinists” in 2009.
Her expertise is a holistic approach of cranial osteopathy, fascial release, vascular and spinal-muscular manipulation. She treats patients of all ages and stages of their life.
Katharina has taken numerous courses in advanced paediatrics, obstetrics, advanced cranial therapy, as well as courses on the linkage between body structure and emotions. She specializes in treating infants with latching and feeding issues, traumatic birth, colic, plagiocephaly, constipation, torticollis, and a variety of other special needs. She also specializes in treating woman with pre and postpartum issues.
Her interested extends into sport injuries such as concussion treatment. She is also experienced in senior health and cancer rehabilitation.
She keeps her knowledge up to date with attending various symposiums and postgraduate courses.
She is involved with the Divinity Foundation in Kenya. This Foundation invites international osteopathic therapists to treat women and children, who have no access to medical care.
